Protekta 400
A flexible polymer for
modified cement / mortar.
Protekta 400 is an aqueous, dispersion
of acrylic-styrene copolymers to make flexible mortar with high
elongation. Supplied as a liquid to modify cement / concrete / mortar.
Uses
It can be used for making waterproofing slurries and patch repairing flexible
mortar / concrete.
Advantages
• Provides superior flexural and
elongation properties to mortar/concrete
• Prevents penetration of water
into the concrete to retard corrosion of reinforcement
• Hinders further penetration of
chlorides into concrete
• Prevents advance of carbonation
in the event that the concrete cover is not sufficiently
compact and / or is too thin.
• Effective seal against moisture,
i.e., against capillary water absorption and water under
pressure, as a result
of which, the concrete is also
protected from chlorides if it is exposed to road salt
• Can also be applied on moist surfaces
• Seals even coarse pores in concrete
and thus, ensures effective long-term protection
Application
1. The surfaces should be clean and free from dust, loose particles, oil and grease.
2. Protekta 400 is added directly to concrete mix as per the suggested dosage (below).
3. Add water according to mix design to attain the desired consistency.
4. Apply 2 successive coats totaling 1 mm thickness, allow to dry between the coats.
Dosage :
1. Concrete / mortar : 2% of the cement content.
2.
Slurry : Adding 10% of cement to Protekta 400 gives
coverage of 2 sq.m/L on smooth surfaces and 1.5 Sq.m/L
on rough surfaces.
Packing : 20L, 50L, & 200L (Other sizes available upon request)
